Abstract Submission Deadline: February 6, 2018


SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS: GENERAL GUIDELINES

Abstracts may be submitted for oral or poster presentations. The Congress Scientific Committee will determine whether abstracts will be accepted based on blind review. They will endeavor to schedule abstracts according to authors' preferences but reserve the right to decide on the final form of presentation.

Abstracts will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee on a rolling basis until the final abstract submission deadline. Abstract submitters can expect to receive notification regarding the acceptance of their abstract within 6 weeks of submission.

Abstracts may focus on:

  • Fundamental research or clinical studies
  • Literature review
  • Case reports

Proposals for workshops or scientific sessions cannot be submitted through the abstract submission system. These proposals must be submitted through a separate system which will appear on the Congress website shortly.

Part of the abstracts will be published in a supplementary issue of "Annals of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation", as well as in the JISPRM, based on the note obtained during the review process and on the standards of these journals."

Abstracts must be submitted via the website only. Only abstracts submitted via the online submission form will be sent to the Abstract Review Committee for review. Abstracts submitted by fax or e-mail will not be accepted.

Please do not submit multiple copies of the same abstract.

Please note that there are no limits on the number of abstracts which can be submitted, however, each individual will be selected to present a maximum of two presentations (either Oral or Poster presentation).

A confirmation email will be sent to you when your abstract has been received. Please refer to your abstract by number, title and presenting author in all correspondence regarding the abstract. Abstracts cannot be modified in any way once submitted and it is the submitters' responsibility to ensure that all information is accurate. The Scientific Committee reserves the right to edit all submitted abstracts for grammar and spelling.

Please contact the Secretariat if you submitted an abstract but did not receive confirmation that it had been received.

Abstracts must be submitted in English.

Conflicts of Interest / Disclosure: Work submitted for presentation must include an acknowledgment of funding sources of commercial nature and/or consulting or holding of significant equity in a company that could be affected by the results of the study.

Abstracts must be original and must not have been published or presented at any other meeting prior to the 12th International Society of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine World Congress 2018.

Presenting authors must be registered participants. Only abstracts of authors who have paid their registration fees will be scheduled for presentation and included for publication.


PREPARING YOUR ABSTRACT FOR SUBMISSION

Before you begin, please prepare the following information:

1. Presenting author's contact details:

  • Email address
  • Full postal address
  • Daytime and evening phone number

2. Author and co-authors' details:

  • Full first and family name(s)
  • Affiliation details: department, institution / hospital, city, state (if relevant), country

3. Abstract title - limited to 25 words in Sentance Case

4. Abstract text – limited to 300 words


TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

Tables – A maximum of 3 tables of up to 10 rows x 10 columns can be included per abstract.

Graphs and images –  It is important to note that each image included in the abstract is worth 10 words. A maximum of 3 images can be included per abstract. The maximum file size of each graph/image is 500 KB. The maximum pixel size of the graph/image is 600(w) x 800(h) pixel. You may upload graphs and images in JPEG format only.

Use only standard abbreviations. Place special or unusual abbreviations in parentheses after the full word appears the first time.

Use generic names of drugs. Express numbers as numerals.


ABSTRACT ORGANIZATION 

Abstracts must be submitted with the following sections:

  • Background and aims
  • Methods
  • Results
  • Conclusions
  • Abstract Topics – Abstracts must be allocated to a specific topic area. You will need to select the topic most suited to your abstract from this list.

Please note that abstracts will not be considered unless they are SUBMITTED before the final abstract submission deadline.
